2010 Kia Soul Review

2010 Kia Soul is a new subcompact car, which comes with many high-tech features and avant-garde styling.


One of the best features in new Soul is the Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to make voice calls by calling out names. Additionally, the standard iPod integration, and high clarity audio system are other upgrades for 2010. Standard Features


Kia Soul is a 4-door wagon/hatchback offered in 7 different trim levels, giving a high level of flexibility to the customers to pick just what they need.


The standard features on 2010 Soul include 15/16 wheel base, air conditioning, tilt steering column, 4-speaker stereo with CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, USB and auxiliary audio jacks, while the longer 18-inches wheelbase is optionally available.


It also comes equipped with 60/40-split rear seat, rear disc brakes, keyless entry, height-adjustable driver seat, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, two-tone upholstery, optional sunroof, tinted rear windows as well as cruise control.


Under the Hood


2010 Kia Soul base model is equipped with a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine that delivers 122 hp and 115 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated only to a five-speed manual transmission.


The other trim levels are powered by a 2.0L inline-4 engine, which is capable of delivering 142 horsepower and torque of about 137 pound-feet. This engine is paired to a standard 5-speed manual transmission or optional 4-speed automatic.


Safety Aspects


The standard safety equipments of Soul include antilock brakes with front wheel discs on the base Soul and 4-wheel discs on all other trims, side curtain airbags, side curtain airbags, traction control unit, and stability control.


Performance & Pricing


In performance tests, Soul Sport with manual transmission went from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of 8.8 seconds, which isn't something that'll move some heads.
